From the heart of Africa, where elephants roam free, we are a group of individuals, united through a common cause – the conservation of African elephants and the support for communities intertwined with the wilderness.
After travelling from Morocco to Mozambique, from the Sahara to the Namib Desert, hiking through tropical jungles, past snow-capped volcanoes, crossing vast open savannahs and canoeing the crystal clear waters of the Okavango, Rita became a professional safari guide, taking guests to the gems of Botswana’s wilderness – the Okavango Delta, the Chobe River, the Makgadikgadi Basin, the Kalahari Desert and to traditional Bushman settlements.
Rita later married a Zimbabwean with the surname Ndlovu, which incidently means “Elephant” in the local Ndebele language. After becoming a mother, Rita and her young family settled in the Victoria Falls area, living on the edge of the National Park and on the banks of the Zambezi River.
It is from here that many incredible stories are waiting to be told – as this blog grows, the stories will unfold.
The family has relocated to Switzerland, but the deep connection to Africa remains unbroken.
In the tapestry of challenges faced by African elephants, the threads of ivory demand and shifts in land-use have woven a narrative of decline. At an alarming rate, tens of thousands of elephants fall victim to illegal poaching each year.
At the core of our existence lies a profound purpose – we are not merely individuals serving Africa; rather, we are Africans inherently devoted to the service of our continent. Infused with a deep passion for wildlife, sustainability, and conservation, we are avid enthusiasts committed to showcasing the beauty of Africa’s natural wilderness – for shining a light and igniting others beyond boundaries to recognise that more passion, more love and more dedication is key to sustaining the true gems of Africa – its elephants and all its wildlife.

To connect with like-minded conservationists and friends of Africa. To collaborate with organisations driving sustainable programs, to unite strengths and enhance an awareness to care for wildlife, for the people, for the elephant.
As people of Africa, we are the architects of a future Africa, for we are woven into its very fabric.
We are driven by an innate connection to the land and our vision is clear: to cultivate an environment where both African elephants and communities can thrive harmoniously.
